Q-Foil Web Cleaner System

The Polymag Tek Q-Foil Cleaner is a single sided Contact web cleaner designed for easy retrofit. The compact Q-Foil cleaner can be mounted into most existing idle roller locations.

The unit is custom designed around the Polymag® Blue polymer covered Contact Cleaning Roll (CCR) technology to remove loose surface contamination from the web substrate.

The Q-Foil Cleaner consists of a single CCR and Adhesive Tape Roll. At line start-up, the CCR lightly nips against the moving web. The CCR nip is controlled by adjustable mechanical stops. Contamination on the web transfers to the surface of the CCR as the web transports through the Q-Foil web cleaner.

An Adhesive Tape roll pneumatically engages against the CCR during web cleaning. The contamination removed by the CCR is then transferred to the Adhesive tape. When the tape becomes saturated with web contamination, the outer layer can be removed exposing a fresh layer of tape.

Spring loaded gudgeons hold the tape core into the Q-Foil assembly. This shaftless design allows for easy removal of expired tape rolls.

A remote box connected by a 10 foot umbilical, contains the controls for the Q-Foil web cleaner. A simple line run dry contact starts and stops the Q-Ffoil cleaner with the web line.

A Contact Cleaning System is proven to be better than a vacuum web cleaner.
